Women's Center making strides to support domestic violence survivors. 5K planned this weekend.
NEW BEDFORD — Some of their clients are victims of domestic violence by a partner. Some are victims of domestic violence by a parent. Others may also be a close relative such as an uncle or an older brother who lives in the home.
"Intimate partner violence is not confined just to a spouse, it can be anyone living in the home," said Kristin Batstone, new executive director of The Women’s Center in New Bedford.
Batstone said it takes a survivor seven to nine times to leave an abusive situation for the last time, and it's especially difficult if you have no place to go. Read more by clicking HERE
